The Patterson Rotary held its summer giveaway this year and awarded over $10,000 to a dozen non-profit organizations. Paul Toscano, the incoming President for the organization, was proud of everything the group accomplished.  "We lost one of our main fundraisers due to the COVID situation and we were still able to support many local organizations."

The Rotary Club usually raises funds in April for their Summer Giveaway through their Men Who Cook fundraiser. The event was canceled this year due to the virus.  Jason Maxell, the current President, was also glad the group could contribute so much to the community.  "There is no doubt we all wanted to do more.  We had some tough choices but provided funds to the organizations that we thought would serve the community best during this time of crisis."

The club has continued to meet virtually during the pandemic and many of its members have been brainstorming about how to provide additional community support.  "There is no doubt that we wanted to do more to give back to the community," Toscano continued.  "We have been brainstorming how to raise funds but are also sensitive that many of our usual donors are also facing some hardship. Once we get back to being able to get together we have some great ideas that will happen."

The Rotary Club is comprised of local residents who meet and discuss how best they can serve their communities.  Through a commitment to "Service Above Self", members assist local non-profits with grants and hands-on activities.  See their website for more information at PattersonRotary.org.
